The Rapu-Rapu Polymetallic Project ('The Project') is the first polymetallic and first zinc-producing mine in the Philippines under the 1995 Mining Act. With an investment of over US$100 million, it is also the largest private venture in the province of Albay. It employs almost a thousand employees, mostly locals.

Jointly owned and managed by the Rapu-Rapu Minerals, Inc. (RRMI) and the Rapu-Rapu Processing, Inc. (RRPI), the project was granted with an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) in July 12, 2001 by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) though the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB). The project utilizes open cut method at a production capacity of one million (1,000,000) metric tons of ore per annum. Approximately 36,000 tons of copper and 26,000 tons of zinc concentrates, as well as 50,000 ounces of gold and 580,000 ounces of silver as by-products will be produced annually.
